The greenhouses askoTHERM are equipped by our company with all modern automation, such:

•  Heating (fan and floor heating systems)
•  Cooling (panel, vents, fans and fog cooling systems)

HEATING: 

The greenhouses manufactured by our company can accept all types of heating available in Greek and international market. One method is to use floor heating system with plastic or metal pipe onto the ground. Alternativelly, an other method is to use heat distribution with axial fan heaters. A combination of these two methods can also be achieved. Finally, the distribution of heat could  be effected with  direct air heaters for heating with hot air. The fuel will vary depending on the area of residence and the availability of the required burning materials. Thus the fuel may be oil, gas, pomace, pellets or wood-products of fruit processing, etc.

COOLING:

The existence of one or more cooling systems is essential for the proper functioning of the greenhouse   and thus the proper performance of the crop. For the cooling of greenhouses the existence of correct passive ventilation is essential  (side windows and roof windows with manual or automatic use).

Furthermore a misting system can be placed inside the greenhouse  (low or high pressure).

In hot climates the optimum cooling system is fan & pads. This system requires the installation  on one side of the greenhouse  of panels made  with special paper which is wetted by water. On the opposite side of the greenhouse are installed large ventilators. The forced air flow inside the greenhouse through the panel, causing an evaporation of water, leading to direct cooling of greenhouse.

Very importand for  the ventilation and cooling and uniform temperature distribution and drying of the greenhouse are the serial fans.  They are placed in the height of the truss and mix the air of the greenhouse.

SHADING:

The overheating inside the greenhouse  during the summer months and the burns from direct impingement of solar radiation on plant leaves can be avoided by installing automatic shading in the greenhouse. The percentage of shading depends on the crop, region and other factors. Curtains shading can be used at night to conserve energy by preventing the radiation towards the sky.

AUTOMATIC FERTIGATION ANG CLIMATE CONTROL SYSTEMS:

The automatic fertigation system is the most appropriate system for a modern greenhouse operation. It can be applied in traditional farming systems into soil or in hydroponic systems over the soil. The use of these automations ensures precise application of water and fertilizer to each plant, through the use of proper fertilization and watering recipes. They can also be combined with automatic climate control systems so as to control the environment of greenhouse and excellent protection and growth of the crops.

WATER TREATMENT: 

The water treatment is a necessity for modern greenhouse crops. The removal of harmful or excess salts from irrigation water ensures optimum plant growth without salinity problems or phytotoxicity. The use good quality water also increases the lifetime of the cooling systems that use water.

The water treatment is not only about the removal of harmful salts from irrigation water, but is also about the sterilisation that can be achieved through the treatment with ultraviolet radiation.

WATER TANKS: 

The steel water tanks of our company is an ideal solution in cases of drought and water shortage or where the available water is brackish and of degraded quality. The collection of rainwater from the roof of the greenhouse  provides a significant amount of excellent quality water so as to meet the needs of the greenhouse. REFRIGERATORS:

The proper maintenance of fruit, vegetable and flowers can be effected in a cold maintenance store . The dimensions and conditions of the cold store depend on the species that will be maintained.

GENERATORS:

The greenhouse has many electromechanical equipment. In case of damage and interruption of electricity supply serious problems can be caused in the operation of the greenhouse. The only solution is to install a backup diesel generator with the appropriate board with automatic starter.
